The postdoctoral candidate will work on the FET Proactive Project entitled "Artificial Leaf" targeting to design a photo-electro-catalytic cell for direct conversion of water and carbon dioxide into chemicals and oxygen using exclusively solar energy.
The candidate will join Dr. David Écija to work on the design of model nanocatalysts for water splitting on surfaces, which will be inspected with state-of-the-art scanning probe microscopies and spectroscopies. The applicant is expected to design experiments, analyze data, disseminate results, while maintaining and upgrading a low-temperature scanning tunneling microscopy set-up.
We offer two-years contract with the possibility of renewing for an additional year, if results are satisfactory. Gross salary will be according to standard regulation in Spain at the Madrid Institute for Advanced Studies in Nanoscience (IMDEA Nanociencia).
The selected candidate is expected to start on February 2018.
The contract includes all the travel expenses required for the development of the project (meetings, workshops, collaborations, etc.).
The successful candidate will have no teaching duties.
