We will develop methods and implement tools to probe complex many body states with minimal back-action on the observed system and develop optimal control theory (OCT) to control and create interesting non-trivial quantum states like spin squeezed and entangled states. We will characterize the measurement processes, the OCT process and the final states of the quantum manipulation and explore its limits. These quantum states will then be the starting point for many of our other investigations like quantum metrology.
The position is limited to 36 month.

In case of a higher qualification an overpayment will be possible. There will be an additonal taxfree payment of a mobility allowance of 600 EUR.

A special focus on experimental oder theoretical quantum physics are expected, i.e. in the field of Bose-Einstein condensation. Candidates with some international research experiences are preferred. Researchers must not have resided or carried out their main activity (work, studies, etc.) in the country of the recruiting beneficiary for more than 12 months in the 3 years immediately before the recruitment date.
