In the context of the COSMIC-DANCE ERC project, we offer 1 postdoctoral fellowship. The successful candidate will work on the development of data mining and statistical tools using hierarchical models in a Bayesian framework to identify young cluster members and derive the cluster properties within our large photometric + photometric database combining Gaia data and ground-based measurements.
Benefits
French post-doctoral contracts are true employment contracts to the extent that they are enforceable by law and carry all of the benefits attached to such contracts under French law.
In particular, the contract carries medical insurance and other social benefits (e.g. unemployment, parental leave, pension) in addition to the salary. Contracts are awarded and administered by the University of Bordeaux.
Eligibility criteria
A PhD in astrophysics (or equivalent) is required to apply (subject to the University of Bordeaux approval for non-EU degrees).
All nationalities are welcome to apply (subject to visa restrictions)
Selection process
A pre-selection of the 5 best candidates will be done a week after the deadline, and on-line interviews will be done.
The final candidate will be selected by mid-October for a start around November 1
