Is seeking 1 researcher for the position of a
SPECIALIST IN ADVANCED PREPARATION OF HYBRID MATERIALS FROM
MOLECULAR PRECURSORS - POSTDOC
Inorganic, organometallic and theoretical chemistry
Synthesis of molecular precursors, sophisticated preparation of advanced hybrid materials, their characterization and applications. Preparation of both homo- and heterometallic clusters, inversion coordination compounds, anchored pseudohalogen agents and oligomers or polymers based on selfassembly of isoindoline skeletons, and its utilisation in non-linear optics, optoelectronics, catalysis and surface protection of materials.
The Postdoc will carry out synthesis of precursors and provide their characteristics, as well as analyze new materials and evaluate their structure and qualities, by spectroscopic techniques such as NMR and EPR spectroscopy, diffraction techniques as well as theoretical methods. Deep knowledge of desired methods as well as broad skills of synthetic work in an inert atmosphere is assumed.
The Postdoc will be obliged to organise a seminar/workshop for his/her colleagues or other scholars on research achievements, experience from abroad, possibilities of cooperation etc.
Goals and expected contribution:
Extending the use of synthetic and theoretical chemistry methods onto new areas as well as transferring relevant knowledge and experience.
The applicant is required:
- To be a postdoc, i.e. research worker within 7 years of gaining the PhD or its equivalent1 (ISCED level 8) to the date of February 26th, 2018 and
- Within the last 3 years (to the date of February 26th, 2018) held a research position outside the CR extending to at least 50% of the full-time workload for at least 2 years, or was a PhD student abroad, and
- To demonstrate publication activity by submitting list of his/her publications (listed in the databases Thomson Reuters Web of Science, Scopus or ERIH PLUS, types of publications including “article”, “book chapters”, “letter” and “review”) – at least 2 items within the last 3 years (to the date of February 26th, 2018),
- To be experienced in synthesis and characterisation of precursors and materials, evaluation of their structure and qualities through methods of structural research and theoretical chemistry,
- To have excellent knowledge of the English language (written as well as spoken).
Successful applicants should not have any type of employment at another university or other institution. Any exception from this rule must be based on an application submitted during the selection proces.

- Fixed term contract for 24 months
- Expected contract start on June 1st 2018
- Full-time contract (8 hours/day, working hours 8:00 – 16:30)

‐ Cover letter incl. the specification of the applicant´s contribution to the new workplace
‐ Brief description of the applicant´s current research incl. its relevance and usefulness for the field of study
‐ Reference of a previous supervisor or head of research team in which the applicant participated
All the above documents will be submitted in English. The diploma or its nostrification and the Certificate of English language examination can be submitted in Czech or Slovak. Documents in a language other than Czech, Slovak or English, must be submitted in a certified translation into one of these languages. Simple copy (printed or electronic) is sufficient for this selection procedure.
