Offer Description

Applications are open for 1 Research Studentship, within the framework of CATCH4LIFE project: Hydrothermal Catalysis and Methane Reactions for Life / Centro de Química Estrutural, Associação do Instituto Superior Técnico para a Investigação e Desenvolvimento (IST-ID), (PTDC/QUI-QIN/3898/2020), financed by national funds through FCT/MCTES (PIDDAC)

Workplan: The work plan encompasses activities from the Task 4 of the project, namely related to the optimization of catalytic systems and reactions for the oxidative transformation of methane under the conditions of hydrothermal catalysis. The main aim consists in the detailed optimization of the catalytic reactions by screening the effects of temperature, pressure, oxidant-to-substrate ratio, UV-irradiation, catalyst reactivation and recycling, as well as performing kinetic and mechanistic studies. Additional post-synthetic modification and characterization of MOF-based and related catalysts to improve their performance is envisaged.

Duration: The research fellowship will have the duration of 6 months. It’s expected to begin in June of 2024, and may be eventually renewed up to the maximum of 3 months.

It is mandatory to formalize applications with the submission of the following documents: i) B1 Form – Fellowship application (https://ist-id.pt/concursos/bolsas/ ); ii) Curriculum Vitae; iii)academic degree certificates; iv) proof of enrollment at an academic degree course (PhD); v) motivation letter.
