OFFER DESCRIPTION

The PhD Program in History, Archaeology and Art History aims to form highly qualified scholars in areas related to the knowledge and preservation of archaeological and art-historical heritage, and to the study of the ancient world and of European societies up to the Present. The entanglement between the different fields and methodologies represented in the training activities addresses the following broad topics: the formation, sedimentation, discovery and valorization of the archaeological, historical and art-historical heritage and its ‘storage sites’ (archives, museums, libraries, databases); the historical evolution of the concept of heritage in the various European civilizations, and the comparison of the national laws of protection; ancient and modern in the history of European societies; the connections between European history and the economic, political and cultural transformations of the ‘global’ world.
