Technological innovation, dual-use, and socio-ethical aspects of aerospace, Emerging criticalities of aerospace engineering from ethics to regulation to society, 2023_ASSEGNI_DAER_37

The research, conducted in collaboration with META (Social Sciences and Humanities for Science and Technology, http://www.meta.polimi.it), addresses the relationship between social and ethical aspects of technological innovation, in particular within aerospace engineering and dual-use technologies, where the challenges of ethics and regulation are increasingly complex and urgent. Areas of interest will be (a) dual-use technologies, (b) social acceptability of aeronautical and space transportation, (c) conception, development, use, and regulation of those systems, and (d) their sustainability, within their broad articulations and connotations.
Although aimed at “Legal studies and philosophy,” strong applications from other sectors of Philosophy, such as “Moral ethics,” will be considered.
