One vacant position for a full-time scientific project researcher at the Chair of Process Technology and Industrial Environmental Protection in the Department of Environmental and Energy Process Engineering from 1. May 2017 on a temporary employment contract lasting 3.5 years. Salary Group B1 of the Austrian labor agreement, monthly minimum excl. supplements € 2.731,00 for 40 hours per week (14 times a year), actual classification is according to previous relevant experience.
Requirements: Completed technical Diploma / Master’s Degree at the Montanuniversitaet Leoben (preferably industrial environmental protection, disposal engineering and recycling) or another university with a focus on waste management, environmental technology, environmental science, process engineering, or an equivalent education in the sense of the desired qualification.
Job Profile: This position is part of an innovative and cooperative Competence Center program “K-Projekt” at the highest scientific and technical level with particular economic importance, titled “Recycling and Recovery of Waste 4.0 – ReWaste 4.0”. The project consortium consists of two scientific partners and seven industrial partners. In total, the “K-Projekt” includes one comprehensive strategic project and two scientific-technical research areas with six specific subordinated projects. As a scientific result, a paper dissertation (including 3 peer reviewed papers) is intended.
Desirable Qualifications: Academic and if possible practical knowledge in the field of waste management, environmental technology, and polymer engineering (materials and process technology). The activities which are part of the scientific monitoring of research projects related to industrial environmental protection include amongst others the problem-oriented investigation of environmental and technical questions in context of waste management.
The execution of selected administrative activities at the Chair AVAW is expected, as well as good language skills of German and English both spoken and written; the willingness for commitment in university teaching; and practical experience in interdisciplinary work is desired.
Desired character: We expect personal interest in practical work, teamwork and communication skills, proactive initiative, responsibility, reliability, and diligence in the execution of the project-specific activity and as required in teaching.
