Overview

The Micro and Nanofabrication Facility is an open-access user facility that provides training and support throughout the development chain in cleanroom processes: device modelling and design, process integration and device fabrication, packaging and testing.

We are looking for a qualified Engineer to reinforce our team and activities within device microfabrication and nanotechnology. The scope of this work will be under an industrial project focused on Magnetic Tunnel Junctions fabrication.

 

Job Duties

The job duties will be the following:

  • Participate in the production of MTJ sensor wafers (200mm) integrated in running industrial contracts;
  • Ensure the continuous improvement of fabrication processes in terms of throughput, quality and reliability;
  • Take responsibility for tasks related with the performance monitoring of specific tools and associated service operations as well as user training;
  • Fabrication of wafers to test different microfabrication processes, recipes, materials, and layouts;
  • Characterisation of devices through specific metrology processes;
  • Produce several technical and scientific documentation and work planning;
  • Compile and evaluate test data to determine appropriate limits and variation for process or material specifications;
  • Support the MNF team on process-related activities:
  • Collaborate with international multidisciplinary teams.

 

Mandatory Qualifications

Education

  • MSc degree in Physics, Physical Engineering, Materials Science, Electronics, or related areas.

 

Experience

  • At least 5 years of experience with process industry in cleanroom environment;
  • Previous hands-on experience in the operation of Physical and Chemical vapour deposition, dry etching techniques, wet etch techniques and, lithography pattern transfer.

 

Preferred Education

  • PhD degree in Physics, Physical Engineering, Materials Science, Electronics, or related areas.

 

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in metrology tools and systems;
  • A good understanding of various processes used in the fabrication of semiconductor integrated circuits;
  • Previous hands-on experience on processing TMR or GMR devices or equivalent, including PVD systems;
  • Knowledge and experience off process improvement and statistical tools like FMEA, SPC, DoE.

How the Selection Process works
 

A. Applications eligibility check
