With a lifetime prevalence of over ten percent in the EU, chronic inflammatory diseases (CID) pose a major health care burden to modern society. Research on chronic inflammatory diseases represents one of the fastest growing academic disciplines with a large potential for translation into novel diagnostics and therapies. 15 partners have therefore established the multidisciplinary EU-funded research network “A Systems medicine approach to chronic inflammatory disease – SYSCID“ to foster the development of a personalized medicine approach to 3 important CID entities: rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus and inflammatory bowel disease.

The approach combines several biomarker layers from the epigenome to the microbiome, but also aims to investigate the disorders using sophisticated tools such as single cell analysis.

As part of this initiative, 13 scientist positions are being established, which we wish to fill with exceptional researchers (m/f) from the fields of medicine, bioinformatics and genetics/genomics.

The positions are located in different laboratories across Europe and provide a stimulating collaborative approach within a cutting edge research environment. Individual positions are based on national laws and regulations (for a full description of individual opportunities, see www.syscid.eu).
