OFFER DESCRIPTION
We invite applications for a Marie Sklodowska-Curie ITN Early Stage Researcher (MSCA-ESR) position, tenable for 3 years at Universitat Jaume I de Castelló, to start in July 2017.
The MSCA-ESR will work with Professor Cristina Botella’s research group (http://www.labpsitec.uji.es/esp/index.php ) on a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Innovative Training Network entitled AFFECTech: Personal Technologies for Affective Health. This will involve research into designing and testing an online protocol supported by the use of mobile devices for the training of cognitive reappraisal, integrating physiological, experiential, and cognitive variables by means of ICT solutions. The research will also involve conducting clinical trials in order to test the efficacy and clinical utility of the designed ICT protocol and mobile devices. The successful candidate will be registered for PhD training while employed by the Universitat Jaume I de Castelló on a Marie Sklodowska-Curie Innovative Training Network.
Among the expected tasks to be carried out, the candidate will work on functional specifications along with engineers to provide the clinical point of view for the development of the ICT-based devices. Besides, it is expected to test user feasibility and acceptance of the mobile applications. Several pilot studies will be carried out.
The contract is offered in conjunction with a PhD position at the Universitat Jaume I de Castelló, and will be subject to the ESR satisfying the University’s admissions requirements for PhD study.
The PhD student is required to spend two periods of secondments at AFFECTech partner Institutions, including Philips (Eindhoven, Netherlands) and PREVI (Valencia, Spain). These secondments will offer longer engagement with the private sector enabling the ESRs’ access to enterprise culture, blue-sky thinking with carry-over into research, problem-based learning, and knowledge transfer from academia to industry.
