Four postdoctoral positions to study the cell biology and drug interactions of the trypanosome trafficking system.
The Field laboratory, Wellcome Trust Centre for Anti-Infectives Research, School of Life Sciences, University of Dundee, Dow Street, Dundee, DD1 5EH, UK.
We are seeking four highly motivated postdoctoral researchers with appropriate skills in molecular and cell biology to join our group and our study of the dynamics of the cell surface of trypanosomes. Our major goal is to understand the structure, function and contributions of surface proteins and transport pathways towards antigenic variation, drug sensitivity and pathogenesis. The project is seeking to take studies in this area to the next level, considering the whole cellular context in response to drugs and trafficking, by the application of proteomics, genetic screens and super-resolution microscopy. The School of Life Sciences at Dundee offers exceptional facilities, including world class proteomics, imaging, computation, access to drug screening methodology together with combined expertise in trypanosome research that is excellent.
