Laboratory of Molecular and Cellular Neurobiology https://shorturl.at/qvEUW at the International Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology (IIMCB), Warsaw, headed by Jacek Jaworski, Prof. is looking for a PhD student.
You will join the project entitled “The role of mTOR-Brg1 interaction in normal and aberrant neuronal activity” carried out as the MAESTRO grant (UMO-2020/38/A/NZ3/00447) of the National Science Centre, Poland.
The project aims to characterize in detail the influence of mTOR on Brg1 cellular functions in activated neurons and the role of mTOR-dependent Brg1 phosphorylation in the regulation of neuronal activity in physiology and pathology.

As a PhD student you will be responsible for conducting scientific research in the field of molecular and cell biology, especially on the role of mTOR in the nucleus of neurons, analyzing the data, preparing various forms of dissection of the results obtained and participating in the mandatory activities of the Doctoral School.
Requirements for the candidate:
- MSc degree in biology, biochemistry or related field.
- Good knowledge of basics of molecular and cell biology and/or neurobiology
- Basic hands-on experience in one of the fields: molecular & cell biology, genetic engineering, fluorescent microscopy, or gene expression analysis using next generation sequencing.
- Written and spoken fluency in English.
- Willingness to learn and take new challenges, ability to work independently, analytical thinking.
- Good interpersonal skills and a collaborative attitude.

Additional Information

- Full-time PhD scholarship 4 years (8 semesters) in amount:
a) before the mid-term evaluation 4500 pln net/month;
b) after mid-term evaluation 5000 pln net/month
