We're on the lookout for a dynamic PostDoc to collaborate with us on a cutting-edge applied science project!
Our project focuses on predicting the health and optimizing the operational conditions of lithium-ion batteries, emerging battery technologies, and other energy materials. We're at the intersection of analytical and numerical models, leveraging experimental data from various characterization techniques. As a PostDoc, your key responsibility will be developing finite element models for battery electrodes, tailor-made to specific chemistries and measurement results provided by our dedicated team and project partners. To expedite and streamline parameter estimation, we're incorporating machine learning techniques. You'll play a crucial role in adopting these approaches, ensuring quick and efficient progress. Our ultimate goal? To publish groundbreaking results in highly esteemed scientific journals and implement findings directly with our industrial partners. As a PostDoc on this project, you'll have the opportunity to collaborate closely with experts from universities, research institutes, and both small and large industrial companies. The collaboration with Keysight Technologies, a leading electronics technology provider, offers a unique chance to gain insights into industrial R&D.
Job Duties:
- Development of Finite Element Models: Create sophisticated finite element models of batteries using Comsol, with a focus on multiphysics coupling.
- Machine Learning Approaches: Innovate and implement machine learning approaches to enhance the development of models for complex systems, ensuring efficiency and accuracy
- Reporting and Collaboration: Provide detailed reports on the systematic work conducted throughout the project for scientific publications and collaborative efforts with project partners.
Your Qualifications:
- Essential Background: Solid experience in finite element modeling using Comsol or similar software.
- Field Expertise: Strong background in at least two of the following fields: electrochemistry, material science, energy materials, nanotechnology.
- Machine Learning/AI: Some background in machine learning or artificial intelligence
- Interdisciplinary Interest:Interest in other relevant fields is a definite plus
- Problem-Solving Attitude:- Curiosity and a proactive approach to solving new problems independently while collaborating effectively with the team
- Team Player: - Thrive in a small team environment within an international setting. Strong communication skills, both internally and externally, are crucial.
- Creative Thinking and Initiative: - Emphasis on creative thinking, motivation, initiative to work independently, and personal suitability for scientific thinking.
- Clear Communication: - Excellent communication skills to engage effectively with key project partners.
- Very good spoken and written technical English, General English level B2; German language skills not required
