University advertises a position as a
Researcher-Research Coordinator
Duties
Part-time employment in the COURAGE,
"Cultural Opposition: Understanding the Cultural Heritage of Dissent in the Former Socialist Countries" Horizon 2020 project coordinated by the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, Research Centre for the Humanities (MTA BTK) with Charles University (CUNI), Faculty of Arts as partner. One of the goals of the project is to create an international electronic registry (database) of representative digital and offline, private and public collections on cultural opposition in 16 former socialist countries. The position holder will conduct research on collections in Czech Republic, input and record data in the database in English and Czech language, monitor the work
of the partners in this area, contribute to the organization of conferences and seminars of the project, keep regular contact with the participants and keep all documentation relevant to these activities.

Description
of the selection process:
The best
candidates will be invited for interview. Selected candidates will receive
information about the exact date by 31 January 2017. The interview will occur
in Czech and English language.
Conditions
of employment
Employment
can start on 1 March 2017, part time (20 hours per week) at CUNI. The contract
is fixed term and expires on 28 February 2018. A three-months trial period is
included.

Skills/Qualifications
Candidates
for the post must have
- MA or PhD in History, Art History,
Sociology or a related discipline
- working knowledge of English and Czech
- archive research experience
- previous involvement in indicated research area
The ideal
candidate
- is a flexible and adaptive person
- has the ability to work in team
- good communication skills and good
knowledge in English and in Czech is a requirement
- has solid knowledge base in the
field of Contemporary Czech History
Knowledge
of a second eastern European language is an advantage.
