Key words: macromolecular crystallography, protein crystallography, synchrotron measurements, supramolecular systems

Key responsibilities include:

1. Protein overexpression, purification and crystallization

2. Co-crystallization of protein associates with supramolecular assemblies (in collaboration with the Institute of Organic Chemistry, Warsaw)

3. Supervision of X-Ray diffraction experiments, with the use of synchrotron radiation

4. Protein structure determination using crystallographic methods

5. Supervision of lab work of a PhD student

6. Preparation of research papers in English

The recruitment procedure is associated with the SYMFONIA project No. 2016/20/W/ST5/00478, entitled:

"Supramolecular Peptide Organic Frameworks (POFs)"

1. Salary: 7000 PLN per month (gross)

2. Employment period: 1 year

Eligibility criteria

Required documents:
 
1. Letter of application, addressed to the Director of the Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry Polish Academy of Sciences;
 
2. 3. Curriculum Vitae and motivation letter; 

4. A certified copy of the doctoral diploma (or Master's diploma including a notice from the supervisor confirming the evisaged date of the doctoral defence);
 
5. Detailed information (including the list of research papers published) on the candidate’s research experience and achievements, including (if possible):
 
- the list of research papers, number of citations (excluding self-citations) and the h-index;
- list of inventions, patents, implementation elaborations;
- information on managing or participating in research projects;
- information on the attended internships;
- information on the awarded prizes and distinctions;
 
6. At least two letters of recommendation.

The deadline for submission is January 31, 2017.

The competition will be concluded until February 20, 2017.

Specific Requirements


  1. Experience in protein biochemical and biocrystallographic research
  2. Good knowledge of
    biochemistry and structural biology
  3. Good command of English
  4. Experience in laboratory work
  5. Experience in overexpression, purification and crystallization, as well as macromolecular structure determination using the methods of structural rentgenography
