The excavation project at Tell Afis (north-west Syria), has been active on the field between 1986 and 2010, and since 2011 focuses towards the publication of the material. The project, led first by the Pisa and Bologna Universities, and, since 2006, by the University in Florence, has brought to light a sequence of settlements from the 5th Mill. BC to the Islamic area. Archaeological activities conducted in area E3 in particular, located on the acropolis, focused on domestic structures and production areas dated to a period from the Early Bronze Age IV to the beginning of the second Millennium BC. The researcher will analyze the archaeological evidence from this area, and provide a) Analysis and filing of excavations documentation, focusing on the archaeological sequence; b) Analysis of pottery inventories and objects from these contexts, c) Setting the Afis archaeological evidence for this period in a broader area, focusing on the archaeological regions; d) Manuscript for publication
