Daphne Jackson Fellowships enable talented women and men to return to the scientific research workforce after a career break of two or more years taken for family, caring or health reasons.

The Daphne Jackson Trust is the UK’s leading organisation dedicated to realising the potential of scientists and engineers returning to research following a career break. We offer flexible, part-time fellowships in universities and research institutes in the United Kingdom.
Daphne Jackson Fellowships are unique - They offer STEM professionals wishing to return to a research career the opportunity to balance an individually tailored retraining programme with a challenging research project in a suitably supportive environment. The unparalleled support offered by the Trust's Fellowship Advisors and administrative staff, coupled with mentoring and retraining provided during the Fellowship, give returners the confidence and skills they need to successfully return to research.

Eligibility criteria
To be eligible to apply for a Daphne Jackson Fellowship you need:
- a good first degree in a science, technology, engineering or mathematics subject
- a PhD qualification or at least 3 years in research prior to your career break (postdoctoral experience and publications are desirable)
- to have left research for family, caring or health reasons
- to have not held a paid research post for at least two continuous years at the time of application
