Instituto de Biologia Experimental e Tecnológica (iBET), Oeiras, Portugal, invites applications for a research fellowship available within the project SEArcularMINE Ref. 658, financed by EU H2020 funds through Grant agreement No. 869467

General requirements:
1) Applications should be submitted by candidates holding PhD degree in the following areas: Chemical, Physics, Mechanics or Materials Engineering, or similar.
2) The candidates should have experience in at least one of the following topics:
- use of electrochemical methods, potentiostat, Luggin capillaries, etc,;
- operation of an electro-membrane process;
- preparation of flow-electrodes;
- characterization of conductive materials;
- preparation of ion exchange membranes;
- CFD (experience in using OpenFOAM is a positive aspect);
3) Proficient use of the English language.

Additional Information

Work place: The project will be developed at the Laboratory of Membrane Processes of Instituto de Biologia Experimental e Tecnológica under scientific supervision of Dr. Sylwin Pawlowski and Prof. João Crespo.
Fellowship Duration: The fellowship will have a duration of 11 months, eventually renewed until the end of project, without prejudice of the maximum limits foreseen by law. The expected starting date is 1 of July of 2023.
Stipend: The net salary is 1741,00 Euros per month, in accord with the regulations of FCT, I.P. (https://www.fct.pt/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/Tabela-de-Valores-SMM_2023.pdf), paid by bank transfer. Social Security is also available, if required.
Selection criteria: The selection of the candidates will be made according to the following:

- Academic training (5 years master’s degree or bachelor’s + master/s degree) with a minimum of 15/20 values - 30%;
- Curriculum Assessment (CV) according to the admission requirements - 70%
If the jury so wishes, can proceed with interview of the best candidates. In such a case the final evaluation will be determined considering a weight of 50% of curriculum evaluation and 50% of the interview evaluation.
Applicants who do not meet the above admission requirements will not be eligible.

Notification of Results: A list with the order of selection of candidates will be published in a public and visible place at the Instituto de Biologia Experimental e Tecnológica (www.ibet.pt), and the selected candidate will be notified by e-mail.
