Offer Description
A research assistant position is available at the BCN-MedTech Research Unit (https://www.upf.edu/web/bcn-medtech/), Department of Information & Communication Technologies (DTIC) of the Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF), Barcelona, Spain, in close collaboration with Hospital Clínic de Barcelona, starting October 2023. It will be part of the ERA-NET EU project (MULTI-FACT).
We propose a research assistant position directly associated to the project to investigate, develop, validate, and translate computational tools to analyse and simulate brain development. The work will be fully complementary to other developments in MULTI-FACT. The main goal will be to develop brain mechanical models of development from foetal to neonatal stages, including surrogate models with machine learning. Additionally, processing of magnetic resonance images (MRI) at foetal stages will be required to perform patient-specific modelling. Also, the candidate will support the implantation of the developed tools in a pipeline that can be used in the hospital. This work will be in close collaboration with clinicians from Hospital Clínic de Barcelona, and different engineering and clinical partners from the MULTI-FACT consortium.
Planned remuneration approx: 28.362€ gross / year
Financing fund: ProyectoPRESP06121 - MCIN/AEI/UE - PCI2021-122044-2A - Piella, Gemma, amb títol: Multi-centric study of Fetal Abnormal Cortical Trajectory with standardised and privacy-preserving method on fetal MRI (MULTI-FACT); financiado por MCIN/AEI /10.13039/501100011033 y por la Unión Europea Next GenerationEU/ PRTR.
Tasks to be performed: The tasks to be performed are within WP3 of the MULTI-FACT project. The main task is to develop brain mechanical models of development from foetal to neonatal stages, including surrogate models with machine learning.
