2nd European Scientific Communities in North America meeting

The 2^nd informal meeting on the scientific communities was very fruitful. Participants could either join in person (13) or by conference call (6) – the full list of participants can be found at the end of the minutes. The meeting was jointly chaired by Giulio Busulini (Embassy of Italy), Ana Elorza (Embassy of Spain) and Viktoria Bodnarova (EURAXESS).

After a short introduction, the EURAXESS Links North America (NA) community was presented by Stephanie Jannin (EURAXESS). The EURAXESS Links NA community has upto-date 4797 members which are divided into 2 categories: (1) the ones that are part of the electronic database called SINAPSE – 3692 and (2) those that are part of the mailing list – 1105. We are continuously looking into possibilities of increasing the number of our members. There was a suggestion made by Turkey: when members of TASSA extend their membership each year, a possibility (check-box) to be part of the EURAXESS Links NA community could be included. EURAXESS could do the same on the registration form: add a check box related to the “national communities”.
