msca_if

Deadline: 12 September 2018.

If you already have your PhD degree or four years full time research experience by the deadline of the call, this is for you! Call: MSCA-IF-2018: Individual Fellowships

Eligible research fields: Research fields are chosen freely by the applicants. All domains of research and technological development are eligible for funding (except areas of research covered by the EURATOM Treaty3). It includes social sciences and humanities.

Objective: The goal of the Marie Skłodowska-Curie actions (MSCA)-Individual Fellowships is to enhance the creative and innovative potential of experienced researchers, wishing to diversify their individual competence in terms of skill acquisition through advanced training, international and intersectoral mobility. Individual Fellowships provide opportunities to researchers of any nationality (and no age restriction) to acquire and transfer new knowledge and to work on research and innovation in Europe (EU Member States and Horizon 2020 Associated Countries) and beyond.

The scheme also supports the return and (re)integration of European researchers from outside Europe and those who have previously worked here, as well as researchers displaced by conflict outside the EU and Horizon 2020 Associated Countries. It also promotes the career restart of individual researchers who show great potential.

Scope: Support is foreseen for individual, trans-national fellowships awarded to the best or most promising researchers of any nationality, for employment in EU Member States or Horizon 2020 Associated Countries. It is based on an application made jointly by the researcher and the beneficiary in the academic or non-academic sectors.

Types of fellowships:

a) European Fellowships (MSCA-IF-EF): for researchers based outside Europe, such as Indian nationals, going to Europe for a duration of between 12 and 24 months.

b) Global Fellowships (MSA-IF-GF): for researchers based in Europe (nationals or long term residents of a Member State or Associated Country) wishing to spend 12 to 24 months in a Partner country, such as India, with a last year back in Europe.

The mobility rule applies in all cases: the researcher must have not lived, worked, or studied in the host country during the 3 years prior to the call's deadline.

In all cases, EF and GF, the potential MSCA fellow needs to have a host institution (the beneficiary of the grant) in Europe. The application will be prepared together by the potential host and the researcher wishing to become a MSCA fellow.
