EU-Vietnam Research & Innovation Community Meeting

On the occasion of the annual Vietnam National Day of Science and Technology (18 May) and the 1st Anniversary of the EU-Vietnam Scientific Diaspora, the EU Delegation to Vietnam (EUD), the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) Vietnam and EURAXESS ASEAN will leverage on the successful outcomes of these past activities and organise the EU-Vietnam Research & Innovation Community Meeting on 21 May 2024 from 16:00 to 19:00. The event will not only highlight and strengthen existing research collaboration but also enhance the evolving collaboration between the research and business communities with a focus on innovative research and solutions for advancing circular economy principles. It invites up to 100 policy makers, business representatives, researchers, academics, and scientists from various disciplines relevant to circular economy, including but not limited to environmental science, engineering, economics, and social sciences. Participants will include past and current recipients of Horizon Europe and JFS grants from universities, research institutions and businesses.

The programme will include:

• Opening Remarks, featuring keynote addresses by high-level representatives from MOST and the EU Delegation
• Presentations by representatives of EU Member States about their perspectives on scientific cooperation with Vietnam
• Presentation by EURAXESS ASEAN about Horizon Europe (HE), and an outlook for strengthening the Research & Innovation community
• Meet my Lab Session with Researchers from Vietnam and ASEAN
• Panel discussion on key themes such as policy frameworks, technological innovations, sustainable business models, and societal implications of the circular economy
• Networking reception to foster informal interactions and facilitate collaboration among participants

The event will take place in a hybrid format.
