Functional Thin FilmsLab at Sabanci University is looking for outstanding post-doctoral researchers who are willing to apply for Marie Sklodowska – Curie Actions (MSCA) Postdoctoral Fellowships (PF) 2024 call.

HOST INSTITUTION:

On a national level, SU has been one of the most successful universities in Turkiye in terms of the number of EU Framework Programmes funded projects per faculty member. The Sabancı University Research and Technology Transfer Office (SUATT) is well structured to manage the current active projects over 260 at the same time (around 40% is EU projects). Research at SU is an interdisciplinary effort extending across all branches of science, technology, and arts. Academic activities are performed within the framework of three faculties composed of non-departmental and interdisciplinary programs: the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences, the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences and the School of Management, which feature a total of 13 undergraduate and 41 graduate programs. SU has also several research centres, including Integrated Manufacturing Research and Application Center (SU-IMC), Data Analytics Research and Application Center (VERIM), Center of Excellence in Nano Diagnostics (EFSUN).

Functional Thin Films Lab:

Functional Thin Films Lab at Sabanci University (https://people.sabanciuniv.edu/gozdeince/) is involved with vapor deposition techniques to fabricate ultra thin films and nanostructures of polymers that are responsive external stimuli. Various applications the research team focus on include flexible sensors, bio sensors, biomaterials synthesis and design. 

OFFER DESCRIPTION & REQUIREMENTS:

The potential applicants are expected to have a strong background in surface modification or thin film synthesis techniques, preferably a PhD degree in Materials Science, Physics or a related field. prior knowledge in device fabrication for sensor applications is preferred. Project proposals related to thin film sensors are welcome.

Researchers of any nationality in possession of a doctoral degree and those who have not resided in Turkey for more than 12 months in the three years before the call deadline (11 Sept 2024) are eligible to apply.
