Description

  • Are you thinking about spending one or two years as a postdoc in a very active and international research environment?
  • Are you a highly motivated and enthusiastic researcher looking for a competitive project?

Professor Juana Diez, established at the Department of Medicine and Life SciencesPompeu Fabra University (Barcelona), is interested in receiving Expressions of Interest of potential candidates for the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowship (MSCA PF) 2024 call. Her main interests lie in virology and omic analyses.

The Marie Sklodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowships scheme (MSCA-PF) is a prestigious European funding programme that supports mobility, career development, and training within and beyond Europe. The scheme offers highly competitive salary and research costs.

About us

Despite their apparent simplicity, viruses remain a major threat to humanity. Paradigmatic examples include the emerging mosquito-borne viruses and the new SARS CoV-2. We study (i) how these viruses take over the cell host translation machinery to highly express the viral proteins, a key first step in their infection cycle, and (ii) use this knowledge for the development of novel antiviral strategies.
