The Dean of the Faculty of Management
at the University of Gdansk
hereby announces a competition to fill the post of an assistant professor
in the group of research and teaching staff in the Strategic Development Department
Form of employment: full-time employment contract (100% FTE).
Deadline for submitting documents: 28.05.2024
Place for submitting documents: Head Office of Strategic Development Department, Faculty of Management, University of Gdańsk, Sopot, ul. Armii Krajowej 101, room 12.
Planned date of competition results: 21.06.2024
The competition may be closed without a candidate being selected.
The competition organiser reserves the right to respond only to selected offers.
The competition is open to individuals who meet the conditions set out in the Act of 20 July 2018, Law on Higher Education (Journal of Laws from 2018, item 1668) for whom employment at the university will be their primary place of work.
The candidates should submit the following documents:
- application to the Rector of the University of Gdańsk,
- curriculum vitae (CV),
- second-degree university diploma in social sciences,
- Personal questionnaire for the applicant for employment (available at: https://ug.edu.pl/pracownicy/strony_jednostek/dzial_kadr);
- information on scientific achievements (list of publications, participation in conferences, research programmes, implementations into practice, etc.),
- information on teaching achievements (list of published scripts, forms of teaching, names of subjects),
- documents confirming language skills,
- information on completed courses, training, qualifications, etc.
- information on a possible and preferred start date,
- certificate of proficiency in Polish of at least C1 level (in the case of applications from foreigners).
If we consider that the documents submitted are inadequate or if we require more information on a candidate, the Competition Committee will ask you to complete them within a maximum of 3 days. The Committee reserves the right to invite selected candidates for an additional interview within a maximum of 3 days.
Offers sent by post will not be returned.

In accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation of 27 April 2016, hereinafter referred to as GDPR, please be informed as follows:

You can contact the data protection officer in all matters regarding the processing of personal data and the use of data processing rights. - The University of Gdansk will process the following personal data: name(s), surname, address, date of birth, contact details provided by the applicant, education, professional qualifications, previous employment history.
- Your personal data will be processed for the purpose of the recruitment process for the indicated job post.
- The legal basis for processing your personal data is Article 6 item 1(c) of the GDPR - the processing is necessary for the fulfilment of a legal obligation incumbent on the controller arising in particular from Article 119 of the Law on Higher Education and Science and Article 21 of the Labour Code Act. The premises for legitimising the processing of personal data voluntarily provided by the candidate, going beyond the data indicated in Article 221 of the Labour Code Act will be Article 6 item 1(a) of the GDPR – consent of the data subject.
- Your provision of personal data is mandatory to the extent set out in Article 22¹ of the Labour Code and the Law on Higher Education and Science, and it is a precondition for the possibility of applying for and possibly continuing employment. In the case of the provision of personal data beyond the above-mentioned legal provisions – your provision of personal data is voluntary, but it is a precondition for your participation in the recruitment process.
- Your personal data will be processed on behalf of the Controller by authorised employees exclusively for the purposes referred to in item 4.
- Your personal data will be retained for a period necessary for the purposes set out in item 3. If your application is rejected in the recruitment process, your data will be deleted immediately after the recruitment process ends, unless archiving is required by law to a certain extent, in which case it will be archived for the period specified in the above legal regulations.
- Your personal data will not be shared with third parties except for cases provided for by the law. In the case of submitting the application documents electronically, the recipient of your data may be an entity acting on behalf of the Controller, i.e. a mail service provider.
- Under the terms of the GDPR, you are entitled to:
1. the right to access your personal data the right to rectify your personal data if it is inconsistent with the actual state
2. the right to delete, limit processing, as well as transfer of data – in cases provided for by the law
3. the right to object to the processing of the data,
4. The right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority – the President of the Office for data violates the data protection legislation.
