Bioštatistické nástroje na analýzu molekulárno-genetických dát sú jedným z najdôležitejších ukazovateľov pre určenie špecifických genetických charakteristík populácií divo žijúcich aj hospodárskych druhov zvierat. Tieto nástroje poskytujú presnejší náhľad na stav genetickej diverzity a vo všeobecnosti rozširujú poznatky o živočíšnych genetických zdrojoch.

Cieľom práce bude preskúmať možnosti využitia genomickej informácie na monitoring stavu genetickej diverzity významných plemien hospodárskych zvierat a prípravu strategických plánov na udržateľne využívanie lokálnych genetických zdrojov.

Main ideas of the proposed dissertation topic:

Biostatistical tools for the analysis of molecular genetic data are one of the most important indicators for determining specific genetic characteristics of populations of wild and farm animal species. These tools provide a more accurate insight into the state of genetic diversity and, in general, increase the knowledge of animal genetic resources.

The aim of this thesis will be to explore the potential of using genomic information to monitor the status of genetic diversity in important livestock breeds and to develop strategic plans for the sustainable use of local genetic resources.
